We have had some questions concerning community service hours outside of FFA activities.
In allowance for these hours to count toward FFA participation and point credit the attached form should be filled out and turned in to one of the Agriculture Science Teachers upon completion of the service activity. The hours will also need to be recorded in the FFA record book.
Members may use up to 10 hours each year of community service activity toward their point totals at 3 points per hour for up to 30 points.
FFA members planning to achieve the Lone Star FFA degree or the American FFA Degree, the two highest degrees of membership offered through the FFA, will need to complete service hours through community service. These community service hours can be done through the FFA or outside of the FFA.
Members planning to pursue the Lone Star FFA degree will need 25 hours by the spring of their Jr year.
Members planning to attain the American FFA degree will need 50 hours by following their high school graduation.
The points year began with the FFA Banquet in May. If your member participated in a community service event following the banquet or this summer these points can be applied.
